Match Report

It’s off to New Douglas Park next as we take on Clyde in Premier Sports Cup Group H action.

Tuesday’s hosts have started their campaign with a penalty defeat against Motherwell, followed by a late stoppage time come back against Peterhead to see them sit on 4 points after two games. They’ll look to strengthen their qualifying credentials against the Warriors.

Gary Naysmith’s men have put in good showings so far but haven’t reaped the rewards. A 3-0 defeat against Morton last Tuesday opened up their campaign and despite a solid defensive showing at the weekend, Motherwell left Ochilview Park with a 1-0 win.

Gary turns his attention towards the league campaign starting a week on Saturday but will use the remaining games to give the recent short term signings a chance to impress. Yan Gromov, Cameron Rowley, Joe Ellison, Ryan Duncan, Max Guthrie and Peter Mendy have all joined in the recent weeks and will be looking to impress against Clyde and Peterhead.

It’s been a season without these two sides meeting, as the last time the sides met was during the Warriors’ title winning campaign in 23/24. Goals from Edin Lynch and Jordan Kirkpatrick earned the Warriors a 2-2 draw at New Douglas Park, just weeks after being confirmed as Champions.
