The club is delighted to announce the signing of five players- all on short term deals- ahead of the opening of the season.
The first of seven signings is defender Cameron Rowley. The 19-year-old joins after a successful campaign at Lowland League side Broomhill last season, where he made 28 appearances and cropped up with three goals. Prior to this, Cameron came through the ranks at Airdrie before heading out on loan.
Adding further competition to our backline is defender Joe Ellison. Joe previously featured at St Johnstone before heading out on loan to Berwick Rangers, where like Cameron, he gained valuable experience in the Lowland League- experience he will be keen to exert in a Stenny shirt.
Shoring up our midfield, we bring in an additional player. Joining our midfield is Rangers and Hearts youth player, Ryan Duncan. The 19-year-old joins the club and brings with him a play- maker mindset, having not only scored five goals over his time at Hearts, but also contributing to the creation of five others.
Rounding off our plethora of signings are two new front men: Max Guthrie and Peter Mendy have both joined our attacking ranks.
Max joins after spells at Ayr United and Stranraer bringing with him five goals and one assist. The lively striker will be keen to show his skills and add to his tally over his time at the club. Max has the ability to play as a lone striker or as a partnership.
Finally, physical striker Peter Mendy is providing another option up top. The powerful striker joins after a very successful campaign in the Lowland League for Albion Rovers, where he netted an impressive 13 goals in 40 appearances. The 22-year-old featured for Wolves U18s back in 2020 before making the permanent switch back to Scottish football.
Head of Football Operations Martin Christie provided his thoughts on a busy week for the Warriors:
“Due to some injury concerns, the decision was made to sign several players on short term contracts for the upcoming League Cup games.
“This allows the club to have a competitively sized squad and allows Gary and the staff to assess the potential of offering longer contracts to these players.
“We are thankful to all the players for agreeing to this and look forward to seeing them in action.”
Warriors, as always please join the club in welcoming our five new signings- we can’t wait for you to see them all in action!
