Warriors, we are shoring up our options between the sticks.

The club is delighted to announce the signing of Yan Gromov on a short term deal, with the opportunity to earn a longer deal.

The 24 year old goalkeeper joins with a wealth of experience from the lowland league. Jan has featured in over 60 across all competitions for his former teams: Stirling University and Cumbernauld CFC.

The 6ft 2 keeper has registered 12 clean sheets over his spells and brings many attributes that align with the Warriors: a confidence in goal, great ball control and a physicality in the box.

Yan spoke with the website after signing for the club:

“I’m very excited to join the club. It’s a good group and everyone has been very welcoming to me.

I really enjoyed the intensity of the sessions and this is a great environment where I can keep developing and hopefully help the team achieve their objectives.”

Manager Gary Naysmith stressed the importance of adding another keeper to the ranks:

“I am thankful to Yan that he has agreed to sign a short term deal with the club whilst providing him with an opportunity to earn a longer contract.

“With Curtis still around 2-3 months away from returning to play, it was important that we added another goalkeeper into the squad.

“Yan had been in with us for just under 2 weeks now and has done well. This arrangement will allow Myles to continue to work and assess Yan over the coming weeks as well as Yan getting to know and work more with the group in the coming weeks.”

Head of Football Operation Martin Christie echoed Gary’s thoughts:

“With Curtis’ injury, it was imperative we brought in some Goalkeeling cover for Darren.

“Yan is known to us from his time with Stirling Uni and Cumbernauld Colts so was invited in to take part in some training sessions.

“He has impressed the coaching staff to win a short term deal and we look forward to working with him and watching his progress.”

Warriors, we hope you will join us in welcoming Yan to the club and can’t wait to see him in action.
