We’re delighted to announce that Kian Speirs has joined the club on loan from Premiership side Motherwell until the end of the season. Speirs made his first team debut for Motherwell on the opening day of the season as the Well defeated St Mirren 1-0.
WarriorsTV spoke with Gary Naysmith to gather his thoughts on the loan signing:
“I am delighted that Kian has decided to join us on loan, especially as there was interest from other league 2 clubs regarding taking him on loan. Although he is only 18, Kian has already made his first team debut for Motherwell this season and is someone they rate highly. We are delighted that both Motherwell and Kian have decided that Stenhousemuir is the correct club to help further his development as a player”
Kian goes straight into the squad for today’s Scottish Cup match with St Mirren. Welcome to the Warriors Kian.
Recent signing Curtis Lyle will miss out on today’s game, as he’s cup-tied following an appearance in the competition for East Kilbride. Therefore, former Warriors’ keeper Graeme Smith has come out of retirement to provide cover in the keeping position. We’re delighted to welcome “Buzz” back to the Warriors and would like to thank him for providing cover.
