Tommy Muir joins the Warriors

Stenhousemuir Football Club is thrilled to announce Tommy Muir as the clubs first new signing ahead of season 2020-21.

The 23 year old striker has joined the club after spending the previous 2 seasons at Annan Athletic.

Muir joined the Galabankies in 2018 from Dalbeattie Star where he had finished the clubs top goal scorer and had won the clubs Young Player of the Year in the 2017-18 season. Muir played 77 times for Annan scoring 24 goals with 10 coming in the first season and 14 in season 2019-20. Last seasons haul included a hatrick against league champions Cove Rangers in the shock 6-1 victory in November. Muir turned into a fans favourite at Annan and was recently voted in the clubs team of the decade. The club has been tracking Muir over the last 18 months with Manager Davie Irons making the striker his number 1 target.

Davie Irons welcomed his first new signing.

We are really pleased to have brought Tommy to the club. The reports we have had compiled on him over the last 18 months are really encouraging. We believe Tommy has the potential to be a top player within this league and a player capable of playing at a higher level within our game. At 23 he is joining us at a great time in his career, there is so much more to come from him. He will give us a different dimension and is the type of player we have been looking to add. Myself and Kevin look forward to supporting his development and helping him achieve his potential’.

Muir spoke about joining the Warriors.

‘I am delighted to be joining Stenhousemuir. I am really looking forward to working with the manager and meeting the rest of the squad. Hopefully it will be a positive season for the club and myself. I would like to thank Stenhousemuir FC and Superior Sports Management for all their efforts’.

Welcome to the Warriors Tommy.

The club has voted in favour of a 27 game season starting in October and hopes to be able to confirm this soon. This approach has been overwhelmingly supported informally by all League 1 and 2 clubs and we await the official confirmation from the SPFL.
