The Warriors have announced the loan signing of Central Defender Aaron Steele, 22, from Arbroath FC until the end of the 24/25 season, subject to SFA approval.

Aaron came through the youth ranks at St Johnstone and will be joining the Warriors to strengthen an already impressive defence.

“The club are delighted to have secured an impressive defender in Aaron until the end of the 24/25 season.” Martin Christie, head of Football at Stenhousemuir said. “Our squad has a history of success in defence and we know Aaron’s attributes will fit in well with the excellent work so far.”

Aaron will provide much-needed competition for Gregor and Kyle and Gary Naysmith had this to say:

“Aaron was actually a player that I enquired about in the summer, but at that time Arbroath made it clear that he was unavailable. It was only around 5pm yesterday that we got word that there was a chance of a loan deal and Martin Christie moved quickly to tie up a deal to secure Aaron’s signature until the end of the season.

With Nicky still being out of action for a period of time, it was important that we brought in another central defender to provide competition for Gregor and Kyle and that’s exactly what Aaron will do. He is a tall, aggressive defender who has decent pace and despite being only 22, has made over 100 appearances in his career so far which include 21 appearances in the championship last season.

I am sure he will add something different to our squad and I am looking forward to working with him in the season ahead.”
