Stenhousemuir FC Announce First Ever eSports Players

Stenhousemuir Football Club are pleased to announce Ryan Ewing and James McCullagh as our first ever eSports players. The duo will be representing the club in the eScottish Cup at Hampden on Sunday 21st of May.

Ryan, born and bred in Stenhousemuir will be representing his home town club in Kick Off mode. James McCullagh, from Grangemouth is a former Stenhousemuir Amateurs player and will be playing for the Warriors again this time on the PS5 in Fifa Ultimate Team.

“We’re delighted to be Stenhousemuir FC’s first ever eSports players,” said Ewing. “It’s a great opportunity for us to represent the club at Hampden and we’re determined to do our best. Hopefully James and I can do the Stenhousemuir community proud as we’re really honoured to be the first eSports players for the club.”

“We’re really excited to be involved in the eScottish Cup,” added McCullagh. “It’s a great chance for us to show what we can do and we’re looking forward to the challenge.”

The eScottish Cup is a new competition taking place at Hampden organised by eRena Sports and supported by the Scottish FA. It is open to all Scottish clubs and is played on the FIFA 23 video game. The Warriors have been drawn in Group B and will face Cowdenbeath, Caledonian Braves, Fraserburgh, Partick Thistle and Heart of Midlothian.

“We’re really excited to be involved in the eScottish Cup,” said Stenhousemuir FC CEO David Alexander “It’s entirely new to us and gives us the opportunity to get the Stenhousemuir name in front of a different audience than usual. The standard of applications for places was really high and delighted to have James and Ryan representing the club.
