Stenhousemuir complete the signing of Sean Burns

The Club is delighted to confirm the signing of 28 year old left back Sean Burns.

Burns left Forfar Athletic on Thursday night after agreeing terms to join the Warriors. He joined the Loons last summer and made 13 appearances this season after leaving Brechin City in May 2019 after a season at Glebe Park. Burns was a youth player at St Mirren before a brief spell at Airdrie. He then spent 9 seasons at Queens Park where he was captain for a while making 254 appearances and scoring 22 goals. He goes straight into the squad for today’s game against Edinburgh City.

Davie Irons welcomed his newest recruit;

‘I am thrilled to welcome Sean to the Club. We have been searching for a left back for a while now and identified Sean as our number 1 target for that position. As with many deals at this time of year it took a little longer than I would have liked but its great to now have him here. Sean has proven himself at this level, he has significant experience of league 1 and league 2 and has captained a Club so he is exactly what we are looking for. It’s been a really productive month for us and bringing Sean in is another excellent addition to the squad.’

Burns becomes Davie Irons 6th January signing and the 11th in total since November 2019. Summary below of the Club’s business this window;
