Stenhousemuir sign up former Swan’s midfielder Ryan Blair

The Club is delighted to confirm the signing of midfielder Ryan Blair. The 23 year old left Swansea after 3 and a half years at the Welsh side where he featured for the Club’s U21 and U23 teams. Blair was part of the Celtic Academy as a youngster before joining the Falkirk Academy. He progressed through the Bairns youth sides and made his debut at the age of 18 in season 2014/15 against Stranraer. After breaking into the first team he quickly caught the attention of Swansea who agreed a deal to take Blair to Wales.

Ryan spent the second half of last season on loan at Dunfermline Athletic featuring 13 times for the Championship side and scoring once. He has been training with both the Warriors and Ayr United in recent weeks before signing for Stenhousemuir on Wednesday with international clearance coming through yesterday. Blair goes straight into the squad for tomorrows game away to Brechin City.

Warriors Gaffer Davie Irons was delighted to secure Blair;

‘Ryan is a talented football player and one that I am delighted to be able to bring to the Club. We are looking to strengthen key areas of the team and a player of Ryan’s ability and potential is one that I feel will improve us. He is clever on the ball, composed in possession and a very good passer. We are working hard to bring players into the Club that can help us improve on recent performances and results and signing Ryan hopefully shows our intentions to do this’

Welcome to the Warriors Ryan
