The Warriors remain top of the table and profit with three points after Dumbarton’s nightmare before Christmas.

Stenhousemuir definitely did not take their foot of the gas today and produced another emphatic win. The first half was a powerhouse display and led to a more than deserved lead at half time.

Top assister turned scorer when Yates’ goal in the 6th minute opened the scoring. His free-kick from 20 yards out cheekily caught the Dumbarton keeper off guard and flew into the back of the net. 1-0.

Aaron Steele bagged his third goal of the season in the 23rd minute. Yates’ inch perfect corner cut open the Dumbarton defence and allowed Steele to power his header in to double the Warriors’ advantage. 2-0.

Dumbarton’s afternoon took a turn for the worse when Gray was dismissed just before half time, after he cynically scythed down O’Reilly, who would have been through on goal.

There was a palpable atmosphere at half time in Ochilview Park with the belief that the team could really take this game out of Dumbarton’s reach. The Sons did have a few flickers at goal in the second half, but nothing that troubled DeeJay, whilst the Warriors, in particular Yates capped off a fantastic afternoon in style.

Yates had another great opportunity, through a free-kick once again, to add to his tally but the Dumbarton keeper was equal to his swerving shot.

The 70th minute was home to some very bizarre scenes when the Dumbarton keeper, Long, had a lapse in judgement, and appeared to push Taylor forcefully in the box despite having the ball in his hands. This resulted in a penalty to the Warriors and Long being dismissed for his actions.

Matty Yates stepped up to take the penalty and dispatched it into the bottom left corner for his brace. 3-0.

Another penalty in the 87th minute allowed Yates to become the hat-trick hero. Taylor was once again fouled in the box with a penalty given. Yates stepped up and again fired his penalty in the same direction as the first. 4-0.

This was a spectacular result at Ochilview Park which leaves us top of the table on 27 points. We travel next weekend to Queen of the South when we are aiming to continue our run as leaders. Please make sure you join us next weekend!

After another thunderous away win on Tuesday night to Cove Rangers, we currently sit top of the table and are aiming to add to that lead through the weekend ahead.

The Warriors are fired up for their 45th meeting with Dumbarton this weekend. Having just played The Sons last Tuesday in The Stirlingshire Cup, we will be aiming for a similar result to aid our league advantage. We had three scorers that night with Tomlinson, Yates and Aitken all getting on the scoresheet.

Our top scorer in this fixture, Matty Aitken, will be seeking to add to his tally of 5 goals against Dumbarton. Aitken also sits as our top goal scorer so far and will be aiming to continue his impressive form.

Dumbarton currently remain bottom of the league table with just one point for the season, though they did muster a point against an in-form Alloa team this week. We remain undefeated against Dumbarton this season and have had some fantastic results against them.

Please make sure you join us on Saturday at Ochilview Park to support Gary and the boys. Remember to stay up to date will all things Stenhousemuir via our social media channels!

Kick off: 3pm 7th December
