The Warriors take to the field for the final time in 2022 and the first time since 10th December.
The search for a new manager continues with final interviews taking place over the weekend with an expected appointment to be announced early in the New Year.
Sean Crighton leads the team for the second time and will look to get a good response form the squad after a spirited but disappointing performance against Elgin City.
The Binos have had the better of the two teams this season, winning both games and scoring 6 in the process.
The Warriors’ last trip to Stirling couldn’t have started worse as Stenhousemuir found themselves a goal down and a player down inside 4 minutes.
The website spent some time with Sean as he prepares his squad for Saturday’s fixture and asked how the boys have been over the last few weeks.
“First and foremost, we went on our Christmas night out which was much needed, but I’ve got the guys back in and they’ve worked hard for the last few weeks. I’ve told them all in terms of having time-off at Christmas, let’s all be smart in terms of looking after ourselves and they’ve come in this week and training has went really good. They’ll be raring to go for Saturday.”
Our run against Stirling is poor and they’re the only team that’s managed to keep a clean sheet against The Warriors this season. How are our preparations going?
“For me, it’s exactly what you’ve said; we’ve not beaten then and they’re the only team to keep a clean sheet against us. We obviously went there last season and got a decent result and I’m hoping that the work that we’ve put in this week, we can go and rectify the results from this year.”
It’s also the final game of the year on the final day of the year. How important is it to get that win and send The Warriors’ fans home happy?
“Absolutely, we never had fixture before Christmas. Going to Dumbarton and getting the win would’ve been a good Christmas present, but hopefully this will, if we win on Saturday, give the fans a boost and give the players and staff and everyone around the club a boost. That’s what we’re looking for. We want to make sure that we have a go at Stirling, we want to win the game and we’ll take it to them.”
Finally, it’s clean bill of health from the squad, aside from Sean who is still a few weeks away from a return to the team.
“There’s still a few niggling injuries throughout the squad but everyone is raring to go. Aside from myself, I’m still about 2-3 weeks away from my point of view. But apart from that, everybody is good to go.”
