Hello and welcome to the final edition of Warriors Weekly in 2022. There’s not much to talk about in terms of matches but plenty going on around the club.

First of all, we would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas (or a very Happy Holidays) and a Happy New Year! 2022 has been a difficult year for many and football has become an escape for many. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone once again in 2023!

Please note that Ochilview will be closed on the 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th and the 31st of December, whilst also being closed on New Year’s Day. We open back up on the 2nd of January.

Despite the recent drop in temperatures, Ochilview has remained busy. A massive shout out to groundsman Jim MacKay for keeping the pitch playable, allowing the recent Scottish Schools FA trials to go ahead along side First Team and Community Training Sessions.

Unfortunately, we didn’t escape unscathed from the recent weather. We had burst pipes in the Pie Hut and in the Portacabin Changing Rooms. These are being fixed this week.

We are delighted at the strong standard of applications for our vacant manager’s role with the men’s team. Our recruitment process is underway and we are taking our time to ensure that we get the right manager in place. Interviews for the role will start next week.

Incase you missed it, our match away to Dumbarton, due to take place on the 17th of December, was postponed due to a frozen pitch. Keep an eye out on our socials for the date of the rearranged match.

We were hoping to be saying that we are half way through the season at the point but having had Saturday’s game postponed, we have played 17 league matches so far. That doesn’t stop us from work though. Below you’ll see a graphic about all 42 goals we have scored so far this season, in all competitions.

We’re off once again this Saturday, as our original match against Forfar Athletic was moved to the 10th of December.

Therefore our next and final match of 2022 is a short trip to Forthbank to take on Stirling Albion. This match will take place on the 31st of December with a 3pm kick off.

Admission is set at £14/10/5 and due to the short journey, there will be no supporter’s bus.

We hope to see you there backing the Warriors into the New Year!

Our Warm Hub will now open 0930am – 1230pm on Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays at Tryst Community Centre on Park Drive, Stenhousemuir.

Pop in for a hot drink, a biscuit, a heat or a chat.

No cost and all are welcome.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support towards the community programme at Stenhousemuir FC.
2022 has been a memorable year for so many reasons.

We have 2 full pathways in our Boys & Girls Community teams with over 25 teams from Under 7s Girls all the way upto our Under 18s Boys.
We hit a record number of participants within our Schools initiative programme whilst delivering to over 25 schools over the course of the year.
Our Girls & Boys Young Maroons Programme have reached full capacity with maximum numbers attending every week at Ochilview Park.
We gained charitable status in 2022 which will allow us to access funding & deliver more non footballing activities which will support all walks of life within our community in 2023
Our values will always be the same – we are a professional football club with the community at its heart & we look forward to seeing you in the new year
Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year from all at Warriors in the Community.
The Men’s FIFA World Cup concluded this past week with Argentina defeating France in an enthralling final. The match finished 2-2 after 90 minutes and 3-3 after extra time. Argentina would win 4-2 on penalties.

Scotland women’s national team have taken legal action against the Scottish Football Association over equal pay and treatment. You can read more about that HERE

And finally, as we’ll be taking a break with Warriors Weekly next week. We’d like to thank everyone for their support this year.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!
