Stenhousemuir’s winning run came to an end after a 2-2 draw at a wet Ochilview Park.

Goals from Gregor Buchanan and Matty Yates were not enough for the 3 points as Clyde came from 2 goals down to earn a point.

Stenhousemuir went into the game as league leaders and were hoping to build on their good 1-0 win in Bonnyrigg against The Rose. Whereas Clyde were also looking to build on their win against Elgin the week before.

Stenhousemuir started very well with some Early pressure inside the first couple of minutes. Yates collected Brown’s free kick and saw his effort saved. The ball then slipped through to Aitken who went close but was denied.

The Warriors went close again on 10 minutes. Matty Yates hooked in a cross, and Adam Brown is there to meet it, but Leighfield produced a wonderful save to deny him. Minutes later, there was another big chance for Matty Yates this time, he works the space well in the box after Meechan’s pinpoint cross, a last-ditch block denied him.

The Warriors opened the scoring on the half hour mark, another goal for the captain, Gregor Buchanan who made it 3 in 3 when he headed home an Adam Brown corner to make it 1-0 to Stenhousemuir.

After a quiet end to the first half, Stenhousemuir had the dream start to the second. Matty Yates picked up his first of the season as he darted into the box and sent his shot the wrong way from Leighfield in the Clyde goal.

Clyde pulled a goal back on the hour mark when Rennie flicked his head on a corner at the front post and sent it goal bound and Logan Dunachie made sure that the ball would cross the line.

Clyde grew into the game after their goal and stopped Stenhousemuir playing. They started having chances and putting the Warriors defense under pressure and penned in their own half.

Clyde eventually drew level after a sustained amount of pressure. A cross was whipped into the box and Rennie was there to beat his marker to the ball and glanced past Jamieson in goal.

Just minutes before the full-time whistle, Rennie should have won it for the visitors when he met a cross from the wing inside the six-yard box, but he fired his effort over the empty, gaping goal.

The Warriors will hope to bounce back from the disappointment of losing the lead as we head up to Elgin next Saturday.
