At the end of the 2022/23 Cinch League 2 campaign, the club can provide the following update on the playing squad.

We’re delighted to announce that Nicky Jamieson and Michael Anderson have both agreed new one year contracts with The Warriors.

They join Nat Wedderburn, Michael Miller, Curtis Lyle, Euan O’Reilly, Adam Brown and Matty Yates signed up for the 23/24 campaign.

Connor Brennan, Jay Cantley, Sean Crighton, Daniel Higgins, Adam Corbett, Ross Forbes, and Tam Orr will be leaving us upon the end of their contracts. Calum Yeats, Kian Spiers, Gavin Reilly and Jacob Blaney will return to their parent clubs following the end of their loan spell.

Connor Brennan joined the club in July 2022 from East Kilbride. Connor established himself as the club’s number one and only a serious injury in January robbed him of that honour. Following several months on the sidelines, Connor returned to the pitch to play a cameo role in the last ten minutes of the last game of the season.

Jay Cantley joined from Airdrie, arriving at the club in Summer 2022. The young keeper made nine appearances, and kept two clean sheets.

Sean Crighton joined in the summer of 2021 from Airdrie and has held the captain’s arm band ever since. Sean made 76 appearances for the club across his two season spell. He found the net nine times and assisted with a further three goals.  Sean also stepped in to the top job to assist the club during the managerial vacancy and was the utmost professional.

Daniel Higgins came to the club in July 2022 from East Fife. He made 20 appearances for the club and was the only Stenhousemuir player to see red this season, doing so so twice! Another season that was hampered by injuries, and it was only due to this that the big man struggled to find a regular place in the starting XI.

Adam Corbett has been the longest serving member of the playing staff having joined The Warriors in 2020 from The Spartans. Adam made 76 appearances for Stenhousemuir, scoring six and assisting three.

Ross Forbes was another player recruited in the Summer 2021, joining from Dumbarton. His wand of a left foot is legendary across the SPFL and he put it to good use, scoring five goals and chipping in with eight assists across his 79 appearances. His wealth of experience helped many of the younger players at the club across his two seasons.

Thomas Orr joined the club in Summer 2021 from Stranraer and was tasked with leading the line across most of his time at the club. Tam also picked up the League Two Player of the Month for January 2022 as he went on a scoring spree. During his two seasons as a Warrior, Tam found the net 21 times and assisted eight more in his 81 appearances as a Warrior. As announced last week, Tam returns to Stranraer after signing a pre-contract.

Calum Yeats enjoyed his third loan spell at the club. This season, Callum made 27 appearances and chipped in with a goal and an assist. “Scholsey” leaves The Warriors this season after making 62 appearances across his three spells for the club. Scoring twice and assisting four more.

Kian Spiers joined the club from Premiership side Motherwell and made 11 appearances as a Warrior. Kian returns to his parent club.

Gavin Reilly returns to Queen of the South following a short loan spell. The striker managed two goals in his 11 appearances with us. He returns to Queen of the South.

Jacob Blaney joined the club on loan from Hibernian in January and only managed five appearances for the club before a nasty injury cut his season short.

We would like to put on record our gratitude for the efforts of all departing players. They all leave the club with our best wishes. The club continues to be in dialogue with Jordan Lowden and will provide further updates in due course.
