Stenhousemuir FC has completed the signing of Marky Munro on a season loan from St Johnstone FC.

The 18 year old will join up with the squad immediately and will be available for the Betfred Cup games. Munro is making a return to Stenhousemuir FC as he started with the club at the age of 9 in the Academy. He showed high promise from an early age and developed through the Academy from Under 10s to Under 13s. From there he progressed into the Forth Valley Football Academy and made his way through U13-17s before signing a professional contract with Falkirk FC. Marky also completed 4 years at the Scottish FA Graeme High Performance School, graduating after 4th year.

After 2 years with Falkirk U20s and Falkirk Reserves Marky moved to Premiership side St Johnstone. The move to the Warriors will represent Munro’s first loan move and a chance to make his debut in professional football.

First Team Manager Colin McMenamin reflected on the clubs latest signing ‘Marky fits the mold of the type of young player we look to attract on loan. He is a local lad and someone well known to the club. He is very versatile and gives me options as he can play in the middle of the park or at either full back position. He is a hard working young player with a real desire to compete and he is comfortable with both feet. I look forward to working with him this season’

Stenhousemuir FC wish to thank St Johnstone for their cooperation in allowing this loan signing to be concluded well in advance of the season allowing Marky to join in with the rest of the squad at the start of pre-season.

Munro’s Home & Away top are now available to sponsor for the season. The cost is £100 for either the home or away tops with the sponsor receiving the signed top at the end of the season.

Welcome to the Warriors Marky.
