Stenhousemuir Football Club is pleased to announce that Stuart Balmer has joined the Warriors as Assistant Manager to Colin McMenamin.
Balmer, who was born in Falkirk spent the majority of his playing career down south with firstly Charlton Athletic before moving to Wigan, Oldham and then Boston United. He returned to Scotland to play with Clyde before a short spell at Hamilton.
He is a UEFA A Licence coach who has held the Assistant Manager’s role at various clubs, most notably Ross County from January 2011 to May 2013 working with Willie McStay, Jimmy Calderwood and finally Derek Adams. During that period he helped steer the Staggies to the First Division Championship title as well as winning the Challenge Cup. Balmer has also worked as a number 2 at Airdrie and Forfar before his most recent spell at Queens Park.
Stuart will start immediately and will be in the dugout for Saturdays home game vs East Fife.
