Warriors Abroad, the official fan club for all Stenny fans outside of the Stenhousemuir area is relaunching itself this season and as a thank you to all of the loyal supporters the club is offering a prize to one lucky member.

Everyone who joins Warriors Abroad will automatically be placed in a prize draw with the winner receiving match day hospitality (a three course meal and free drink) for two or, for those who have trouble making the trip to the hallowed ground, a home and away shirt, signed if you wish.

The draw will not be made until the end of the season and the winner will be announced at the player of the year dinner and put on the website. The price of membership has remained the same, £12.50 for UK residents and £15.00 for the rest of the world, with that you will receive a badge, four quarterly newsletters and discounts at the club shop and some local shops, including our main shirt sponsor, the Gulnar Tandoori, probably the tastiest sponsor in football. Plus you will have done your bit to support the Warriors and your support is valued by everyone at the club, as assistant Manager Brown 'Bomber' Ferguson was quick to point out.

While Stenhousemuir cannot boast the biggest support in the world they do have a lot of very loyal fans and not all of them are home grown, on any Saturday it is no surprise to hears cheers in various different accents or a cacophony of cowbells from Norway.

Ferguson knows what it is like to play in front of that support and it is something he has enjoyed immensely, saying: “When you come out to a game, as a player what you want is an atmosphere and as much support behind you as possible with positive shouts, it does add a lot to a player.

“Initially when you hear it, it is different, as you are not used to the cowbells. It isn't something that happens week in week out. However, when you hear them start to ring from the start of the game, it makes a big difference and you settle in in a much more positive mindset.

“When you sit back and look at it I suppose it is a bit strange as it does not appear to happen at many other clubs but we are grateful of that support when it is there.”

It is not just the Norwegian cowbells that add to the Ochilview atmosphere and Ferguson is grateful for all of the far flung support the Club has, saying you can always sense when a group has travelled to a game. He said: “You can definitely feel there is a difference to the atmosphere, there is a bit more to it, whether there have been a couple of beers consumed I am not sure but it is a much more vibrant atmosphere. You know that they are there and it is absolutely brilliant they are all coming up, making these long journeys a few times a year to support the team, I think it is fantastic for Stenhousemuir.”

To be in with a chance of winning the prizes up for grabs, you simply need to join or renew your membership to Warriors Abroad.  All members will automatically be entered in to the Prize Draw.
