Stenhousemuir played out a 1-1 stalemate with Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Ochilview in the William Hill League One.
Calum MacLeod opened the scoring for the visitors as he latched onto a rebound from a Darren Jamieson save, tapping it over the line.
The Warriors responded well, with Matty Aitken coolly slotting away a penalty after Mikey Anderson was fouled in the Caley box.
Gary Naysmith made one change from Stenny’s 3-0 win over Hamilton Academical, with Olly Whyte coming into the starting XI in place of Leyton Grant.
The Warriors began the game brightly, with Ross Taylor having the first chance of the match. After a passage of quick passing play, the winger got a shot off, forcing a good save.
Inverness were next to threaten, with Alfie Stewart’s free-kick being held comfortably by Darren Jamieson.
Another warning for the Warriors came when a high ball into the box was almost met by Jordan Alonge, who narrowly missed the ball from close range.
However, the visitors would open the scoring in the 15th minute. A cross into the box found Mitchell Robertson, who headed towards goal. It was saved well by a full-stretch Darren Jamieson, but Calum MacLeod was on hand to tap the rebound over the line.
Stenhousemuir kept their heads up as a tremendous ball through the Inverness defence found Ross Taylor, who struck low towards the far corner, almost creeping in. However, it was saved well by Ross Munro.
The quick one-touch football continued from the Warriors, with Kane Ritchie-Hosler next to have an effort, but he fired just wide.
Alfie Bavidge then had a headed effort on goal, but could only see it drift wide of the target.
Before the half-time whistle, Nicky Jamieson had a headed effort from close range, but it landed into the palms of Ross Munro.
Half-Time: Stenhousemuir 0-1 Inverness Caledonian Thistle
A massive save from Darren Jamieson ten minutes after the restart prevented Caley from doubling their lead, as the keeper denied Alfie Bavidge in a one-on-one.
It looked like Stenny had the equaliser when Ross Taylor had another low shot on goal, but a huge save from the visiting keeper prevented the ball from finding the net.
A penalty was awarded to Stenhousemuir after Mikey Anderson was brought down inside the box by Caley captain Daniel Devine.
Up stepped Matty Aitken, who remained composed in front of the travelling support and slotted the ball into the bottom left corner in the 81st minute.
This proved to be the final major action of the game, with Aitken’s late penalty ensuring the points were shared on the afternoon.
Full-Time: Stenhousemuir 1-1 Inverness Caledonian Thistle

Gregor Buchanan rounded off a tremendous performance, rising highest to meet Kinlay Bilham’s inswinging corner and thumping the ball into the net to seal all three points.
The result saw Stenhousemuir return to the summit of the table, while also mathematically securing their place in the William Hill Championship Play-Offs.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle come into the fixture following a 4-1 defeat to Raith Rovers in the KDM Evolution Trophy.
