This weekend the mighty Warriors make the 100-mile round trip for their first ever battle with Irvine Meadow XI.

Our trip to Irvine on Saturday marks the return of the Scottish Cup as we enter in the third round. After a five-star performance against struggling Dumbarton on Tuesday night, we turn our focus from one cup game to another.

This is the very first time we will have faced Irvine Meadow XI in any competition. The Ayrshire side currently sit bottom in the West of Scotland league with a lowly 13 points.

On the other hand, we currently sit in the top end of the League 1 table and are hoping that the romance of the cup will guide us through to the fourth round when Premiership opposition is up for grabs.

Our best ever run in the cup was in 1995 when the steadfast Warriors tussled with Hibernian in the quarter finals. Saturday could be the start of a fabulous cup run, and we need as many of the Warriors there as possible to make that happen.
