The club are delighted to welcome talented youngster Rachel Bathgate on loan from Spartans until the end of the season.
Rachel arrives at Ochilview following a highly successful loan spell for her SWPl1 teammate Lauren McDonald last term.
Enjoying grassroots football at Kirkliston and South Queensferry base KSQ, Rachel would relocate to Spartans in 2022; initially within the then regional programme before moving into the academy pathway – completing her time in youth football in the summer.
“After finishing the season with the U-17s at Spartans I was given the opportunity to go out on loan and Stenhousemuir was mentioned as an option” Rachel explains. “I’d heard great things about the club already and I knew that it would make for a great place to start playing senior football”.
Touching on her Spartans’ colleagues time at Ochilview, she adds “After chatting to Lauren and seeing a couple of the game she played in, I could see how the environment really benefited her, and I know how grateful she has been for the experience”
“I think the positive atmosphere that the coaches create can really benefit a young player and it can make the whole experience really rewarding. Fingers crossed I can get the similar benefit that Lauren has received”
Warriors’ manager Jack Cameron adds “Like so many young players these days, Rachel has had an excellent grounding in football, and we are exceptionally happy to be seen by both Rachel and Spartans as best place to support her introduction into senior football”
“She is a technically gifted player who can play in multiple areas across the midfield, and I think she’s going to be a terrific addition to the squad”
The Warriors kick off their pre-season campaign hosting Dunipace this coming Sunday.
