Warriors, the club is delighted to announce the signing of Finlay Gray on a one-year contract.

The midfielder joins the mighty Warriors after a spell at Dumbarton FC where he made over 120 appearances for the club.

Despite only being 23 years old, Finlay brings an array of experience and creativeness to the midfield having made over 130 appearances across all competitions. Finlay is an extremely versatile player having played in both midfield and defence when called upon.

He began his career at St Mirren as a member of their B team before making the permanent switch to Dumbarton in 2022. Not only has Finlay racked up the appearances, but he has proven to possess a keen eye for goal, tallying an impressive 16 goals and 11 assists over him time at his former club.

Manager, Gary Naysmith, expressed his delight in securing the signature of such an exciting player:

“I am delighted that we have managed to bring Finlay to the club as our first signing of the transfer window.

“He is a player who has always caught my eye when we have played against Dumbarton and is a player who we have always had to pay attention to whenever he lined up against us.

“Finlay is an energetic box to box midfielder who has played over 125 games in the last 3 seasons despite still only being 23.

“After speaking to him at length since the season ended, I can tell that he is someone who is continuously looking to develop and improve and I am looking forward to working with him when we return for pre-season training on the 14th June”.

Head of Football Operations, Martin Christie, echoed Gary’s thoughts on our new signing:

“Finlay has been on our radar since his days at Broomhill.  With the squad building the way it is, we feel he is the perfect compliment to those already in the squad and those we are also trying to bring in.

“His energy, desire and ability will make him a very important part of our squad this season and I am delighted to finally be able to welcome him to Stenhousemuir”

New signing Finlay spoke of his elation in putting pen to paper:

“I can’t wait to get started. I’ve heard so many good things from playing against Stenhousemuir.

“I’m looking forward to joining up with the boys and getting started.”

Warriors, please join us in welcoming Finlay to the club and we look forward to seeing him in action.
