The club are delighted to be welcome centre half Kennedy Burns from SWPL1 Motherwell on a season long loan.
Starting her football with Hamilton Academical, Kennedy would transition to Motherwell enjoying a productive spell at the heart of the Motherwell academy backlines. Arriving at Ochilview to form up again with more than a few former teammates, Kennedy took no time in settling in – even finding the back of the net during the pre-season campaign to date.
“I felt it was the right time for this step as, as like any young player, you want to challenge yourself, gain some senior experience and try to continue improving” Kennedy explains.
“You need to challenge a bit to improve, but you also need to be supported through the process, and I felt that a move to Stenhousemuir would provide both. Although the overall squad age is not too old, there is a lot of experience in there for me to learn from. The Championship is a good level to pay at and hopefully I can contribute fairly quickly.”
“I obviously want to improve as a player but success for the team is important as well, and I’m really focussed on making sure I can do my bit to help the team succeed.”
Manager Jack Cameron adds “Kennedy is another exciting signing for us. She’s remarkably quick for an aggressive defender and that was exactly the sort of player we were looking to add. She knows a good few of our players already and I think that shows from how quickly she’s settled in. I’m really looking forward to seeing how she progresses with us this season.”
