As we close the door on a successful and historic season, it’s time for the Media Team to say goodbye and thank you. Each member of the team wanted to take a second to send a message, and you can read them below

Connor Ferguson, Head of Media

“It’s been a season to remember for myself. Titles have been won, and friends have been made. Who knew I could owe so much to so few? I’ve enjoyed every single minute of it and am so thankful to have been a part of history. At the start my plans was to create a story around the club. I believe in fan first and I hope the fans feel fulfilled with the content that the team have produced this season. Nothing could have been done without a fantastic team tho

“Angus Blacklock—can’t be more proud of this guy. He has gone from strength to strength, and I wish him nothing but the best in his career. Believe it or not, I can count on one hand the number of times he’s done more than one take on anything. An impressive individual who will go far.

“Rennie Hamilton – a footballing William Shakespeare. Ian recruited us at the same time, and he’s been the backbone ever since. A very funny and quick-witted lad. I believe his posts on Twitter are the best in the country. He masterfully blends professionalism with an understanding of his audience. An all round brilliant guy who makes me laugh everytime I’m at the ground.

“Chris MacMillan – As quoted by Craig G Telfer, this man is the best commentator in the 42. How he is at Stenny is beyond me. We are so fortunate to have him documenting this historic season, and I will not be surprised if I see him on Sky Sports one day. A very, very talented commentator.

“Aaron Marshall/Raymond Davies—The pictures these lads have produced are going to outlive us all. Two masters of their craft. Such amazing photographers who have done everything we asked of them. I can’t believe how lucky we are to have them.

“And finally, Ian Fitzpatrick – To this day, I still don’t know why he recruited me. The man has been so patient with me since day one. The hours he puts into the club, for free, are truly extraordinary. He’s been there for me both in and outside the club. I owe this man a lot, and hopefully, one day I get the chance to repay him. Any team would be lucky to have such a hard-working man.

“I owe this season to all of these lads. Who knows where football will take me, but one thing is for certain: I’ve made some good friends at Stenhousemuir, and if that’s all I get from football, then I’ll be a happy man. To this club that has played a massive part in my life and all the stenny fans, i say thank you! I hope you look at all the content fondly in the years to come

“Mon the warriors!”

Rennie Hamilton, Media Officer

“I joined the club in May last year as a student and I’m leaving in full-time work. The club has played a huge part in my development, and what a season to be involved! I’ve enjoyed some days and nights that I’ll remember forever. It’s been great to build a bond between players, staff and the media team over the season – they’ve made our job easy! I’ll always be thankful to the club for giving me an opportunity to learn & develop and I’ll be back as a supporter in the near future!”

Angus Blacklock, Media Officer

“The end of the season last weekend marked the end of my journey at the Stenhousemuir Football Club. Personally, it has been an amazing to get the opportunity to work consistently in the media and it has been an honour to highlight some of the great work that goes on behind the scenes. Along with that, making sure that this fantastic football team on the pitch were able to be seen by fans far and wide to witness the historical success from the team that made sure Stenny won the league at Ochilview!

“A big thank you has to go to the players, Gary, and his coaching staff for making our job as a media team as easy as it can be! It’s been a pleasure, but could not have been done without being a part of an amazing team. A massive thanks to all the rest of the media team who have all played their part.

“I will always be greatful to Stenhousemuir for giving me my first opportunity in the football media. I am already looking forward to getting back to Ochilview and cheering on the Warriors at some point soon.

“C’mon The Warriors”

Chris MacMillan, Commentator

“What can I say, this journey has been simply unforgettable.

“From that goalless opener, to Adam Brown’s goal of the season, to trophy day – to be involved during this historic campaign with this incredible club has been an absolute privilege.

“I want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved – the rest of the media team, the players, manager and his staff, the fans and everyone in between, I am so grateful for the opportunity and support, you all made my job easy.

“I’ll always have my eye on Stenhousemuir results and will always remember that Stenny won the league at Ochilview.

“Thank you”

Raymond Davies, Photographer

“I’m hugely grateful to everyone at Stenhousemuir for giving me a start in sports photography. Before working with the club I hadn’t photographed sports before. Now I’m leaving with a huge amount of valuable experience and my work has been used in national publications. Being part of the club’s media team during this historic season is something I’ll never forget, thank you to everyone from the players to the staff, volunteers and fans for making me feel so welcome. I couldn’t be happier to have shared the season with you from behind the lens.”

Aaron Marshall, Photographer

“It has been a real pleasure documenting Stenhousemuir Football Club over the last season and a half. I am so grateful to have been here to experience and capture such an historic season, and although it took a while, I hope it was worth it

“I will be back to ochilview (where Stenny won the league!) to catch a few games next season, but I’ll be there as a fan this time!

“Cheers!”

Ian Fitzpatrick, Chief Marketing Office

“I’ve spent an amazing three years at a Club like no other. A major thanks goes to the Board who have allowed me to come in, build a team and do my thing, and I hope that I’m leaving them with a media and marketing output that they have been proud of.

“Gary, the staff and players have been unbelievable. They’ve answered every question, helped with every request and have given us the easiest job in football! My main goal for this season was to bring the fans, players and club closer together. The guys have welcomed us as part of the team and I’m looking forward to see them make the step up to League One.

“The guys above, Connor, Rennie, Angus, Chris, Raymond and Aaron, what a team! The laughs that we’ve had throughout the season, the breakfasts, the “one pint in the wee bar that ends up being kicked out the Station at closing”, the planning sessions, the drives, the arguments, the pushing each other to be better and the friendships built will never be forgotten. Thank you.

“Finally to the fans, it’s not been lost on us that we’ve needed to create the content and captured the memories that will last a lifetime. I hope we’ve made you proud and it’s been an absolute pleasure to tell the story of this historic season. Enjoy League One, and if you see me in the stands next year, be sure to say hello!

“The best way to describe my time here… I wasn’t a fan when I started, but I am now!”
