The champions, Stenhousemuir travel to New Douglas Park where they take on bottom place Clyde in the cinch league 2.
Stenhousemuir are unbeaten in seven since the defeat against the bully wee and will be hoping to pick up their first win in their last six.
The champions come into the match off the back of a 1-1 home draw with Elgin City. Ross Taylor scored a great goal with his weaker left foot to give Stenhousemuir the lead. But Robert Jones equalised towards the end to make sure the points were shared at Ochilview.
Assistant manager Brown Ferguson previewed the match saying “We need to keep moving forward. Finish the season well and keep performing good as a team.”
Captain, Gregor Buchanan also previewed the match saying, “We have records to maintain and break, as a defender I want that clean sheet on, and we have a great chance of breaking it.”
Nicky Jamieson and Nat Wedderburn will miss out following injuries that they picked up in previous weeks.
The bully wee have picked up in recent weeks but come into the match after a 1-0 defeat to Dumbarton at The Rock.
The two sides have already met three times this season, the first encounter came at Ochilview at the end of September. Stenhousemuir went two goals up through Gregor Buchanan and Matty Yates. But Clyde pulled the Warriors back with two goals late on in the match through Logan Dunachie and Martin Rennie were the players that got the goal. Clyde also had a couple of good chance to take all three points towards the end of that match.
The second encounter was right at the end of 2023 at New Douglas Park where Stenhousemuir were 2-1 victors. Matty Aitken scored a brace either side of half time but right at the death Clyde got a consolation through Logan Dunachie.
The third encounter was won to forget for Stenhousemuir, they suffered their heaviest defeat since 2018 when Clyde beat them 6-1 in February. Euan O’Reilly opened the scoring for the warriors, but six away goals followed. Braces from Jordan Allan and Martin Rennie as well as goals from Liam Scullion and Cammy Ballantyne say Clyde get a victory that shocked Scottish Football.
The champions have the upper hand when it comes to head-to-head records. They have 35 wins to Clyde’s 15 however Clyde boasts the better home record with 17 wins to 7.
