Stenhousemuir return to action at Ochilview tomorrow when they take on Stranraer in the cinch league two.
The Warriors will be hoping to make it a dozen wins in a row after getting their 11th win in a row away at The Spartans at Ainslie Park last Saturday. Goals from Matty Yates and Matty Aitken and some good defending sealed an important 2-0 victory for Stenhousemuir and saw them move 14 points clear at the summit of the league.
Gary Naysmith said “We’ll train as we always do. Work on things we feel we can affect Stranraer. They had a good victory at the weekend, but we’ll train as we always do.”
Ross Meechan also previewed tomorrow’s game saying “It’ll be another tough game. We will train well. We need to keep working hard. The distances the boys cover in training is great se we’ll keep that up and prepare for Saturday.”
Ross Taylor will return to the squad after his suspension. However, the game might come a week early for Jordan Kirkpatrick who returned to full training this week.
Stranraer come into the match off the back of a 2-0 victory themselves, they defeated Peterhead last Saturday down at Stair Park to move the blues up to 6th place in the league. Scott Agnew’s men have had an inconsistent season, finding it difficult to get a decent run going in the league. They’ve won six games, drawn four and lost nine.
Stenhousemuir have won both games agaisnt Stranraer this season. The first was a 5-0 victory at Ochilview on Warriors Day with a goal from Matty Aitken and braces for Gregor Buchanan and Adam Brown. There was also a 3-0 victory at Stair Park back in November, Aitken was on the scoresheet once again alongside Matty Yates and Euan O’Reilly
Stranraer edge the all-time head-to-head record with 86 wins compared to the Warriors 58. 40 draws have also been played out in the 184 encounters.
The Warriors will have to be weary of attacking threats like James Dolan and Tam Orr who have eight goals between them this season.
