Warriors help raise awareness for Deafblind Scotland
Stenhousemuir FC is proud to be supporting Deafblind Scotland and their deafblind penalty kicks initiative.
Try and score a goal wearing ear defenders and eye masks to raise funds for Deafblind Scotland! We will be set up outside the club in the B+M loading area from 9am-3pm. We will also have some half time activities so keep an eye out for us and learn more about our work.
“Are you blind Ref?!” is a football taunt we’ve all heard so often. But can you imagine what it’s like to be blind and deaf? Never to witness that beautiful goal or hear the incredible roar of the crowd? There are an estimated 11,000 deafblind people in Scotland. By 2030 it is predicted there will be 242,000 deafblind people in the UK. As a person’s condition worsens, it is frightening, and many people become isolated and suffer from depression and other mental health problems.
Deafblind Scotland’s aim is a society in which deafblind people have the permanent support and recognition necessary to be equal citizens. Established in 1989, Deafblind Scotland is an award-winning national charity recognised as Scotland’s principal authority on meeting the varying and complex needs of individuals living with acquired deaf blindness.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
