Stenhousemuir FC Youth U14/13 team played host to the American Youth Team,
Spirit of Tampa Bay, Florida, USA.
The match was played at Ochilview Park on Thursday, 26/7.
Head of Youth, Graeme Robertson, stated that he was delighted to give the young American team the opportunity of playing a competitive match and was really pleased with our display despite the fact we only resumed Pre-season Training during the week.
The U14's along with some younger U13's acquitted themselves well against a stronger more physical team, but the game was played in the right spirit as their name suggests, with both teams playing passing football and making many scoring opportunities.
Graeme said that we were delighted to give the young Americans an opportunity to showcase their abilities at Ochilview.
The US players themselves were thrilled to play at Ochilview Park as part of their UK tour.
Let’s hope we can arrange a return match, but play in the sun of Florida next time.
