The U19’s played Clyde tonight in the semi dark at Broadwood Astro pitches and won by a 6-5 scoreline.
The young warriors were completely outplayed in the 1st half and went in at half time losing 3-1 and were lucky only to be down by that score.
We were 1-0 down in 3 minutes when the defence was split open and a Clyde forward gave Dean Shaw no chance.
Things got worse in the 18th minute when a poor clearance allowed Clyde to go 2 ahead.
The game looked all over when Clyde scored again in the 37 minute with a drive from 20 yards giving Shaw no chance.
In the 43 minute we were given a lifeline when Stewart Love scored from 8 yards to make it 3-1 at half time.
After getting a half-time wake up call from new U19 coach John Richardson we started the 2nd half in a more aggressive manner.
In the 53rd minute Love scored again with a header to make it 3-2.
The revival was short lived when Clyde went 4-2 ahead with a header in the 54th minute and went 5-2 up in the 64th minute with a shot from close range.
The fight back started in the 70th minute when Jamie O’Grady hit a 25 yard screamer into the roof of the net making it 5-3.

We equalised in the 89th minute when Love completed his hat-trick with a header from close range.
We managed to get in front for the first time in the game when Jordan Burns scored from 20 yards with the last kick of the ball in the 92nd minute.
It was a hard won victory made all the more difficult with such a poor showing in the 1st half.
Tonight we were lucky to get away with a victory, the young Warriors will have to start games in a more professional manner if they are to maintain their challenge for the title against the better teams in the league.
