The club are delighted to welcome talented youngster Sophie Wilson on loan from Hamilton Academical until the end of the season.
Starting with Central Girls. Sophie soon made her way through the youth pathway at the New Douglas Park side, making her first team as a 2nd half substitute v Hibernian in January of this year.
The 17-year-old winger joins up at Ochilview to gain valuable experience at first team level. “Getting game time within the women’s game is obviously an important step for a young player” explains Sophie. “Hopefully continuing to learn the senior game at a good level is something I can do with Stenhousemuir”.
“As much as I will be learning from others, I hope that I can pay that back with some hard work and determination to help make the team a success on the field. I felt instantly welcomed even at my first training session with the club, and there is such a positive atmosphere that it makes the learning a really positive experience.”
Manager Jack Cameron adds “Sophie was a standout during a friendly we had with Hamilton’s U-17s side last year, so when she was made available for loan it was absolutely something we were keen to provide for her.”
“She’s a technically gifted player who can deploy anywhere across the front line so it gives us another excellent attacking option for the season ahead. “
“Obviously, we are very pleased that both Hamilton and Sophie feel we can provide the support that she requires at this point in time.”
