Stenhousemuir Football Club is delighted to announce that both Curtis Lyle and Leyton Grant have signed one-year contract extensions, keeping the pair at Ochilview for the 2026/27 William Hill Championship campaign.
Curtis Lyle first joined the Warriors in January 2023 from Kilmarnock and has gone on to make 23 appearances for the club, recording four clean sheets.
During his time at Ochilview, Curtis has been part of one of the most successful periods in the club’s recent history, helping the Warriors secure the cinch League Two title in 2023/24 before playing his part in the squad that earned promotion to the William Hill Championship through the 2025/26 play-offs.
Leyton Grant arrived at Ochilview in September 2025 following his departure from Rangers and quickly established himself as an important member of the first-team squad.
The versatile defender and midfielder featured 35 times during his debut campaign, registering two assists in a 2-0 KDM Evolution Trophy victory over Annan Athletic. Leyton also played a key role in the club’s successful William Hill Championship Play-Off campaign.
Director of Football Martin Christie said: “We are delighted to be able to announce that Leyton has agreed to stay with us for the 2026/27 season.
“Since coming in, Leyton has become a real key member of the squad, showing great versatility in playing both centre-back and centre-midfield.
“Leyton shows composure and class in both positions and, at only 20 years old, we feel there is still more growth to come from him. We look forward to him being a vital member of our Championship squad.”
On Curtis Lyle, Martin Christie added: “Curtis has been a mainstay for us since our League Two days and has been a vital part of our dressing room and our goalkeeping department since then.
“His ability to push Darren in training and give his all whenever called upon has set the tone for our team spirit and the way we want our squad to work.
“We are very happy that Curtis has agreed to stay on for our first season in the Championship and I’m sure he will continue to set the bar of professionalism and effort within the group.”
Speaking after extending his stay with the Warriors, Curtis Lyle said: “I’m absolutely delighted to get the new deal over the line and extend my time at the club.
“Since I joined, I’ve loved every minute of it here, so to commit my future to Stenhousemuir means a lot.
“Now the focus is fully on the season ahead. It’s a big one for the club and I can’t wait to be part of it. Hopefully we can do ourselves and the fans proud.”
Leyton Grant added: “I am delighted to extend my stay at Stenhousemuir. I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead at a higher level this season and working under the new manager and his team. I can’t wait to get back playing in front of the fans.”
Manager Marvin Bartley said: “I’m delighted to have Curtis here and he is someone who Myles Hogarth rates really highly.
“Curtis is at the age now where he wants to be number one and challenge for that shirt. This is the perfect place and environment for him to do that while also pushing Darren Jamieson every training session.
“No shirt is guaranteed to anyone. Every player starts with a clean slate and Curtis is no different. He has trained extremely well so far this pre-season and he has to be ready whenever his opportunity comes.”
On Leyton Grant, Marvin Bartley added: “Leyton did extremely well last season. He came in as a centre-half, played games as a number six and that experience and understanding in different positions will really help his development flourish.
“I’ve been really impressed with how fit he’s come back. He’s right at the top of the running tests and he’s a young player I’m looking forward to working with and helping develop further.
“He’s athletic, eager to learn and has a fantastic attitude. Both Curtis and Leyton are excellent players, but they’re also fantastic characters and that mentality will be hugely important for us in the Championship this season.”
