Stenhousemuir Football Club are delighted to confirm that Mikey Anderson has signed a one-year contract extension, keeping him at Ochilview Park for the 2026/27 season.
Mikey Anderson initially joined the Warriors ahead of the 2021/22 campaign from Broomhill and has since become a key figure in the squad.
The midfielder made his competitive debut for the club on 13 July 2021 against Dumbarton in the Premier Sports Cup, before netting his first goal in a 2-0 victory over Elgin City at Ochilview Park on 28 January 2023 in cinch League Two.
Since arriving at the club, Anderson has made 183 appearances in all competitions, contributing 10 goals and 11 assists, while also playing a key role as part of the club’s title-winning squad.
Manager Gary Naysmith commented on the extension, saying: “I am delighted that we have been able to agree terms with Michael which will see him extend his stay at the club.
“Michael is one of only three players that still remain at the club from when I took over in January 2023 and in that time, I believe he has improved all aspects of his game considerably. More importantly, I believe there is still more improvement to come from him.
“This season has been a little frustrating for Michael due to several minor injuries, but he is nearing a return to full fitness for the final part of the season. That will be a real boost for everyone as he is a really important and valued member of the squad, and I am delighted that he has chosen to sign his new contract.”
Head of Football Operations Martin Christie added: “We are delighted to secure the services of Michael for another season. He has been a mainstay of the team over the last few years and, at 26, we believe he is just entering the prime of his career.
“Michael is closing in on 200 appearances for the Warriors, which is a terrific achievement. We look forward to him reaching that milestone and more as part of his new contract.”
Chairman Dan Wharton said: “Michael’s extension is another important piece of business for the club. He embodies the commitment, consistency, and professionalism we value at Stenhousemuir, and his contribution both on and off the pitch continues to set a strong example.
“As we continue to build for the future, retaining players of Michael’s quality and character is vital, and we’re pleased that he will remain a Warrior for another season.”
Mikey Anderson said: “I’m delighted to have signed for another season at the club. It was an easy decision; I’ve played my best football here over the last few seasons as well as having some amazing memories as a club. Hopefully more exciting times are ahead for me and the club.”
