Stenhousemuir Football Club is delighted to announce that Nicky Jamieson has signed a new contract with the club, extending his stay at Ochilview Park for another year.
Nicky Jamieson initially joined the Warriors on loan before making the move permanent in January 2022, arriving from Alloa Athletic. Since then, he has become a key figure at the heart of the Stenhousemuir defence.
The defender made his debut for the club on 17 July 2021 against Partick Thistle in the Premier Sports Cup, before netting his first goal just weeks later in a 3-0 victory over Dundee United B in the SPFL Trust Trophy.
Since his arrival, Jamieson has gone on to make 136 appearances for the club, scoring 13 goals and registering two assists.
His consistent performances were recognised during the club’s historic title-winning campaign, where he was named Player of the Year.
Speaking on the extension, Gary Naysmith said: “I am delighted that Nicky and the club have agreed terms on a new contract which will see Nicky extend his stay.
“Nicky is a proper old school defender who loves defending and is someone who would be very difficult to replace if he decided to move on.
“Over the last 18 months or so, He has been really tested both Physically and Mentally with his hamstring problems and it’s been a testament to his strength of character that he has been able to overcome these issues and still be able contribute to what we have done on the pitch so far this season.
“Nicky is another very popular character at the club and everyone is delighted that he has extended his contract.”
Chairman Dan Wharton said: “Players like Nicky are at the heart of everything we’re building here. His commitment, attitude, and resilience, particularly during his recovery from injury, have been outstanding and set a real example for others.
“He’s been a vital part of our achievements, including our title-winning campaign, and we’re very pleased to have him continue with us for the season ahead.”
