Following the incident involving our supporters’ bus after yesterday’s match, I would like to place on record my sincere thanks to everyone connected with Stenhousemuir Football Club for the way they have supported one another. I am extremely proud of both our team and our wider support, which includes colleagues at Queen of the South Football Club, for dealing with the issue swiftly.

First and foremost, we are relieved that all our supporters returned safely. These types of incidents are extremely regrettable but thankfully, rare in Scottish football.

I would like to thank our supporters for travelling in such numbers to back the team. Your continued effort means a great deal to everyone at the club. I would also like to recognise the players and staff, who ensured supporters were looked after and helped them safely on their way home.

The club will now allow the relevant authorities with the active support of Queen of the South Football Club to carry out their investigation and deal with the matter appropriately.
