Stenhousemuir Football Club is proud to announce that Matty Aitken made his 100th appearance for the club yesterday, as the Warriors ran out 1-0 winners against Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Ochilview, with Matty getting an assist for the winning goal.

Matty joined the club on 13 May 2023 from Forfar Athletic and made his debut on 15 July 2023 in the Viaplay Cup, playing his part in a memorable 1-0 victory over St Johnstone.

The forward opened his goalscoring account for the club on 26 August 2023, finding the net twice in the same match against Dumbarton, and has since gone on to score 28 goals, alongside providing eight assists.

Aitken was a vital member of the league-winning side that secured the club’s first-ever league title, and his performances did not go unnoticed, earning him a nomination for PFA League Two Player of the Year. He was also recognised individually when he was named Player of the Month for December 2023.

Speaking about reaching the milestone, Aitken said: “I’m really proud to have reached 100 appearances at Stenny. It’s the most I’ve enjoyed my football, the success we’ve had has been a part of that but most importantly it’s because of the dressing rooms we’ve had and how much the boys get on, the Gaffer and Brown and also how much the fans have gotten behind myself and the boys throughout my time here. I hope there’s more success to come and many more appearances.”
