Stenhousemuir Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of versatile left-sided player Oscar MacIntyre on a one-year contract.
The 21-year-old arrives at Ochilview following the expiry of his contract with Inverness Caledonian Thistle, where he made 37 appearances and scored once during the 2025/26 campaign.
MacIntyre played his part as Inverness lifted the William Hill League One title, securing promotion to the William Hill Championship.
Capable of operating at left-back, left wing-back or further forward on the left, MacIntyre combines versatility with considerable senior experience for his age.
He joined the Hibernian Academy from The Spartans in 2019 before signing his first professional contract in 2021.
MacIntyre made his senior debut at the age of 17 during Hibernian’s final post-split bottom-six fixture of the 2021/22 cinch Premiership season, coming on as a second-half substitute in a 4-0 victory over St Johnstone.
He made two further cinch Premiership appearances during the following campaign. MacIntyre featured in Hibs’ emphatic 6-0 victory over Aberdeen at Easter Road before appearing in a 4-1 win away to Livingston.
The left-sided player gained regular men’s football during two loan spells with Queen of the South and a spell with Annan Athletic.
His first move to Palmerston Park came in August 2023, when he joined Marvin Bartley’s Queen of the South side on loan from Hibernian. That spell provided the Warriors manager with first-hand knowledge of MacIntyre’s character and ability.
Across his two spells with Queen of the South, MacIntyre made 59 appearances. He featured a further 11 times during his loan spell with Annan Athletic and joins the Warriors having accumulated 119 appearances at the age of 21.
Since leaving Inverness, MacIntyre has maintained his fitness and sharpness as part of PFA Scotland’s inaugural Pre-Season Camp for out-of-contract players.
Speaking after completing his move, Oscar said: “I’m really excited to join the club and get going. With the season starting on Saturday, it really feels like the right place for me, given the direction the club has been going in over the past few seasons.”
Manager Marvin Bartley added: “I’m delighted to welcome Oscar to the football club. He is a player I have worked with before, having joined Queen of the South on loan from Hibernian.
“Oscar made his Hibs debut at the age of 17 and has since gained experience through several loan spells before making a permanent move to Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
“He played a pivotal part in Inverness winning William Hill League One last season and has now played a lot of games and accumulated an awful lot of minutes in men’s football.
“He is exactly the type of player and profile we are trying to bring to the football club. He still has ambition within the game but also has plenty of senior football under his belt.
“I first spoke with Oscar’s agent when he left Inverness, but he had always planned to attend PFA Scotland’s Pre-Season Camp. That only recently concluded, so he has effectively remained in full-time training. You could see that when he trained with us because his fitness and sharpness were already there.
“We are really looking forward to Oscar adding competition at left wing-back. He can also play at left-back and, if required, on the left side of central defence.
“I have known Oscar and been aware of him for a long time. As was the case with Lewis O’Donnell, we have had to be patient with this signing, and I am delighted that we have finally managed to get it over the line.”
