Stenhousemuir Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Robbie Hemfrey.
The 24-year-old, who stands at 6ft 5in, becomes the latest addition to Marvin Bartley’s squad following his most recent spell with East Fife.
Robbie began his career in the Motherwell youth academy before moving south to join Stoke City. He made 17 appearances across Stoke’s under-18 and under-23 sides, keeping five clean sheets during his development with the Potters.
The goalkeeper signed for Rotherham United in September 2022 and made his senior debut in the English Championship against Burnley in April 2023. Robbie was introduced at half-time following an injury to Josh Vickers and played the final 45 minutes as Rotherham earned a 2-2 draw at the New York Stadium.
Robbie returned to Scotland with Airdrieonians in March 2024, making 12 appearances and keeping one clean sheet. He also featured as Airdrie defeated The New Saints to lift the SPFL Trust Trophy.
A move to Arbroath followed before Robbie spent time on loan with Clyde, where he made 24 appearances and recorded five clean sheets. He then joined East Fife in January 2026, adding a further 13 appearances and one clean sheet.
The goalkeeper has also represented Scotland at under-16 and under-17 level, earning five youth international caps.
Manager Marvin Bartley spoke on the club’s latest addition, saying: “Robbie came in to train with us at the start of pre-season to get himself fit. He impressed both Myles Hogarth and me with his attitude and application in training.
“He enjoyed being with the group and decided to continue training with us, even when he was offered contracts elsewhere, as he felt this was the best environment for his development.
“Following the unfortunate injury sustained by Curtis, a space opened up in the squad. It was a no-brainer to offer Robbie a deal and make him an official part of the group.”
Robbie added: “I’m really looking forward to the season ahead. It’s a really good group of boys and I think we can achieve something special this season.”
