Stenhousemuir Football Club is delighted to congratulate Ross Meechan after the defender made his 300th competitive appearance for the Warriors in last night’s Premier Sports Cup fixture against Partick Thistle.
Ross helped the Warriors secure the bonus point following a 2-2 draw, with Stenhousemuir prevailing 5-3 in the penalty shoot-out.
Ross made his Stenhousemuir debut at the age of 19 on 2 August 2014, coming off the bench in a 3-1 Scottish League Cup victory away to Airdrieonians. His Scottish League One debut followed one week later, when he played the full 90 minutes as the Warriors again defeated Airdrieonians, this time winning 1-0 at Ochilview.
His first goal for the club arrived in April 2015 against Greenock Morton at Cappielow, and he would go on to become a key figure throughout his first spell in maroon.
Ross played an important role in preserving the club’s Scottish League One status through the play-offs in 2014/15 before helping Stenhousemuir earn promotion from Ladbrokes League Two in 2017/18.
He featured in all four play-off matches during that successful campaign, including both legs of the final against Peterhead, as the Warriors secured promotion to Ladbrokes League One.
After departing the club in the summer of 2018, Ross returned to Ochilview five years later following spells with Forfar Athletic and Darvel.
His second spell has brought further historic success. Ross was a central part of the side that lifted the 2023/24 cinch League Two title, securing the first league championship in the club’s history.
He then helped the Warriors finish fourth in William Hill League One during the following campaign before playing another key role as the club secured promotion to the William Hill Championship at the end of the 2025/26 season.
Ross played the full 90 minutes in both legs of the William Hill Championship play-off final against Alloa Athletic, as Stenhousemuir secured a 3-2 aggregate victory and a place in Scottish football’s second tier.
Across his eight seasons with the club, Ross has now recorded 300 appearances, six goals and 13 assists.
Ross’s consistency, professionalism and commitment to Stenhousemuir Football Club have established him as a legend of the club.
