Stenhousemuir Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of central midfielder Lewis O’Donnell.
The 21-year-old joins the Warriors following his departure from Dundee United and becomes Marvin Bartley’s seventh signing ahead of the 2026/27 season.
O’Donnell progressed through the youth system at Tannadice before making his first-team debut as a substitute in United’s Premier Sports Cup fixture against Buckie Thistle. He also made two appearances for Dundee United’s B team, scoring once and providing two assists.
The midfielder gained his first sustained experience of senior football during a loan spell with Kelty Hearts in the 2023/24 campaign. He made 38 appearances for the Fife side, scoring once and contributing two assists.
O’Donnell spent the following season on loan at Queen of the South, where he recorded two goals and two assists across 26 appearances.
He then joined Cove Rangers for the 2025/26 campaign and enjoyed an impressive season at Balmoral Stadium, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 37 appearances.
On the international stage, Lewis has also represented Scotland eight times at under-17 level.
Manager Marvin Bartley said: “Lewis is a player we looked at when I first came into the club and we held conversations with him at that time. Unfortunately, things didn’t align at that stage, so it was put on the back burner.
“During that period, I kept in touch with Lewis and he was always very transparent and respectful. Martin Christie must also take some credit, as he kept in contact with Lewis’ agent and advised that we could look to strike a deal. He was very persistent.
“That meant we were able to put ourselves in a position to bring Lewis to the club, and I am absolutely delighted.
“I watched a lot of footage of him playing for Cove last season and he was instrumental in so much of their attacking play. I can’t wait to see him playing for Stenhousemuir.
“Fitness-wise, he has missed pre-season with us but has been in America, so that will put him in good stead going forward. He played 25 minutes as a trialist against Brechin at the weekend and you could see his quality.
“Once he is fully up to speed, Lewis will be a huge asset and will work well with his teammates. He is a very exciting attacking player.”
After completing his move, O’Donnell said: “I am delighted to sign for Stenhousemuir.
“I’m looking forward to officially getting started with the boys and helping the team enjoy another successful season, as they have done over the last few years.”
Everyone at Stenhousemuir Football Club is delighted to welcome Lewis to Ochilview and wishes him every success during his time as a Warrior.
