The U14's fixture against Hearts FC at the Hearts FC Academy was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.
The Under 15's put in a very spirited and, at times, a very good performance with midfielder Chris McInnes scoring with a superb curling left foot shot and centre back Danny Naismith netting a penalty. Luke Fleming was outstanding in a central midfield role midfielder Craig Patterson and striker Lori Johnston performing well too.
The U16/17's did not perform to their potential against Hearts. Sean Dickson who has been in excellent form this season, had a penelty well saved in the second half. Centre back Thomas Nelson and fullback Steven Welsh both played well in the game, but otherwise it was a disappointing game played in poor weather conditions.

Match Reports AvailableOur Under 13's acquitted themselves well against the young Rangers side at Ochilview, and in a very competitive first 30 minute period, Paul Brown showed great skill and technique before scoring with a subperb right foot strike. Rangers played very strongly in the second period and scored some good goals despite some fine saves by Lewis Wynne in our goal. Shaun Campbell rifled home a spectacular 20 yarder at the beginning of the 3rd period and Paul Brennan latched onto Philips Duffy's cross to score with a few minutes to go.
Coach Stevie Clarkson was pleased with the last hour of the Under 14's match against Rangers at Ochilview. Rangers were the better side in the first period but the young Warriors rallied well in the final two periods where goals by Scott Brown and Andy Thomson put a fairer reflection on the proceedings.
This fixture was postponed at Rangers request due to lack of team numbers.
In what could be best described as difficult overhead conditions' our Under 17's struggled at times to master the elements against the Glasgow side at Murray park. Rangers scored prior to the end of the first half and although Drew Windgate scored for the Warriors after Paul O'Neills initial effort was kicked off the line, it took a fine performance by keeper Gordon Little to keep us in the match.

The team played poorly at Dunfermline and despite a decent performance by goalkeeper Dean Shaw, Dunfermline won comfortably and deservedly.

The U16/17’s put in a very inconsistent performance against Dunfermline. Despite playing well in possession of the ball, their inability to defend set pieces well cost them in the end. Coach Paul McIlwraith was disappointed with the U13’s performance against Hamilton Academical. Under 15’s v Hamilton Academical at Bent Road playing fields, Hamilton.
A horrendous opening half hour period in which our U15’s were very poor made the outcome of this game far more one sided than it ought to have been. The second and third periods showed that our youngsters were well capable of competing in the match, but as has happened too often this season the lack of a competitive edge cost them dearly.

Our U17’s were eventually well beaten by their Hamilton counterparts. Coaches Michael O’Neill and Kevin Mc Goldrick were a bit disappointed with the display of the team and to add to their woes an injury to Kieran Connachan compounded what was a bad day at the office.

Under 17’s v Motherwell at Ochilview Park, Stenhousemuir
What a game to end Michael O’Neill’s coaching career at Stenhousemuir. Motherwell came out the traps quickly and following a couple of defensive mistakes the Warriors found themselves well behind. However a quite incredible comeback resulted in goals for Lee Halpin, Sean Dickson, Ryan Sneddon and Dean Strathie striking back for the young Warriors. However Motherwell rallied and poor defending got them back into the game.
Stenhousemuir FC would like to extend a warm thank you to Michael O’Neill for his hard work and excellent coaching throughout a long period of time at the club. Michael has been a huge contributor to the success of the youth policy at the club in his time here. We wish him well in his future.
