   24th November Jose Signs!

John Coughlin has added to his Warriors squad with the signing of exciting winger Jose Quitongo!  Jose has been training with Airdrie recently and will go straight into the squad for today's game against Forfar.

Jose, pictured left after scoring a late and dramatic equaliser for Hearts against Celtic back in 1998 actually began his career at Benfica but moved to Darlington before making an appearance. He only made one appearance for the Quakers before moving on again to Hamilton and then on to Hearts where he regularly came off the subs bench as an impact player.  He then returned to Hamilton scoring on his debut in a 2-0 win at Berwick Rangers.  Since then he has played for a host of clubs in a long career including St Mirren, Kilmarnock, Partick Thistle, Alloa, Dumbarton and Livingston.  Jose was born originally in Angola and hopes to bring some excitement and tricks to Warriors games and add to his tally of 26 goals from 198 total appearances.

7th Nov Warriors Support Children In Need!

In conjunction with the BBC the club is delighted to raise some additional cash for this year's Children in Need campaign. During this weekend every player who plays for us from under 9's to the first team squad including the ladies team will donate £1 to the fund. Everyone who scores will donate £2!!
The plan is that f every club across Scotland follows suit then we will have raised a fair old sum. More than happy if every supporter also wants to donate a £1 and maybe and extra £1 for every goal the first team score - your shout folks but if you are up for it please assign a leader who will do the collecting.

7th Nov Forfar Fixture Moved to November 24th

The home fixture previously scheduled for Boxing Day has been moved forwards to Saturday November 24th to exploit the blank Saturday both teams had.  Kick off will be three pm as usual for Saturday games.

7th Nov New third Strip Chosen

Our third choice strip has been selected and is now in production.  We are left in no doubt that the creative abilities of our fans are alive and well. We had a great selection of designs to choose from – from the wild to the wacky and the comical to the colourful. We also had a few excellent entries and to get to the decision we decided to go to those who know – our supporters. We gave a number of them free reign to choose from all of the designs, combined the votes and hey presto – we have a winner. The good news is it is neither wild nor wacky but in fact is an excellent design and we are delighted that our supporters have such excellent taste!! Thanks for all who participated and we hope to have the strips ready for Xmas!  It was designed by 15-year-old Jonas Klint Westermann, from Denmark.  for more of Fanbanta's coverage of the Warriors go to their website.

18th Oct Lennon and Brown Join on Loan

New manager John Coughlin has completed his first signings as he bids to get Stenny's promotion bid on track.  He has brought in young Hibs 'keeper Ally brown on loan until January who is highly thought of at Easter Road.

Also here on loan is a player that Third Division fans should need no introduction to. The club are pleased to confirm that John Coughlin has signed Gordon Lennon on loan from Partick Thistle until the January transfer window. Gordon is well known in the third division after his stand-out performances for Albion Rovers and we tried unsuccessfully to sign Gordon in the close season. We wish him well during his stay with us.  Gordon made 68 appearances for Albion scoring for them three times . . . and when Gordon scored they always went on to win!

    17th October Signings Expected

John Coughlin has settled into his desk as manager of the football club.  he is currently looking to add to his squad by using the loan market with one or possibly two players hopefully joining within the next week.  We'll keep you up to date with any further developments.

    12th October John Coughlin!

The club is delighted to announce the appointment of John Coughlin as our new manager. John met the players last night (Thursday) along with his assistant manager Matt Kerr. John's experience was the main factor in the decision and we were fortunate that he became available just as we needed him. John also took the opportunity to meet with Campbell to discuss in particular the liaison with the youth system and both have clear mutual respect. We wish John and Matt the very best of luck at the club and sure you will join us in giving them all the support they require.

As outlined in other communications the club went through a full process of
candidate selection and interview with 3 other candidates meeting the board.
Of those the two main contenders were Jim Sinnet and Jim Chapman, both of
whom were excellent candidates who conducted themselves well throughout the
process. We are sure both will find a role in senior football soon and deservedly so.

    11th October Manager Search Continues

We are homing in our manager now and we hope to make an announcement on Friday. We have met 4 shortlisted candidates and we are now completing some of the finer details. We will keep you informed.

11th October Neil Wins The Big One!

This week's penalty shoot out results are wins for Jamie over a valiant Tom
and, in the big one, Neil done the job over his dad, big Jim. The tie of the
round lived up to the billing and was settled by sudden death.  For full details of the competition see the penalty shootout page.

     2nd October Manager Hunt Starts

With Campbell leaving the manager's chair we are now full swing into identifying a suitable successor. Within the first 2 days we had 15 credible candidates. The plan is to shortlist around 4 and have a discussion with each
of them before either making a decision or meeting again.

It is unlikely that we will have someone in place before Saturday - we are looking for a long term manager and not a short term fix. There is plenty time left this season and sufficient good players to mount a challenge - getting the right man (or woman) is worth taking our time for.

We will keep all informed!

     29th September Campbell Money Resigns

After today's defeat Campbell resigned from his position as manager. He was highly disappointed but felt it was time to move on. We wish Campbell every success in the future in terms of management and we are equally disappointed. Campbell will remain in his post as head of youth development.

     27th September Penalty Shootout Update!

The results of Saturday's penalty shootout were a win for David Scott over Mikey Symon and a win for Sean Martin over Kris Gray. Well done to both. Next match is Tom Begg v Jamie Mathieson and the big one!!! Big Jim Mackay plays his son Neil - a mouthwatering tie given Jim thinks it is a crossbar challenge!!

27th September Ferguson Back On Saturday

Stevie Ferguson has made excellent progress following his injury in the game at Forfar earlier in the season.  Stevie has been missed as a driving force in the Warriors' midfield since he was out.  But now the specialist has given him the all clear and we hope to see him take his place in the side this Saturday.
