28th July New
Board Member Appointed |
The club learned thro a 3rd party that Brown McMaster was leaving Partick
Thistle. It was felt that given his wealth of experience in both Football and in
Business he would be an ideal choice to enhance the board. After discussions the
club asked Brown to join us and were delighted when he agreed to do so. We trust
that Brown's appointment will help us to take the club forward in our efforts to
make the club all it can be.

23rd June Steve R.
Burns Memorial Festival |
In
memory of former club director, Steve Burns , who died suddenly last year,
Stenhousemuir FC have joined forces with Larbert Round Table to host the
first-ever Steve R. Burns Memorial Football Festival.
This will become an annual event and it is hoped that the primary schoolchildren
of the area will benefit for many years to come. The event is for primary 6/7
pupils and will be a seven-a-side format. Community Coach Stevie Ferguson who
has co-ordinated the club’s activity commented–There are approximately 150
children from the primary schools in the Larbert “cluster”with all but 3 schools
sending teams to the event. This is an excellent turn out and will further
demonstrate the club’s commitment as a community club. Our sincere thanks go to
the members of Larbert Round Table who have worked with me and donated the
trophies and certificates which will be awarded to all those children taking
part.
Round Table Honorary President, Robert Beagley, who has co-ordinated the event
is delighted that such a large turn out is expected on the day." On a personal
note not only was Steve a Past Chairman of Larbert Round Table but a very close
personal friend to me and my family. This is a fitting tribute to Steve as it
brings together two things that he held dear–his love of football and
particularly Stenhousemuir–and his interest he shared for the wider local
community. Above all it maintains his family link to the club . Lesley will be
present on the day with sons Craig–of Akabusi Loyal fame and Paul -who is a
ballboy at the club. It is undoubtedly the best way to honour his memory and
hopefully continue to do so for many years to come.
The event kicks-off at 10.00am on Wednesday 25thJune 2008 and all will be very
welcome. Several members of the Round Table will be in attendance together with
several of the club directors and family friends.

28th May Pre-Season
Update |

The club are pleased to announce the following pre-season
friendly fixtures;
Friday 18th July Away v Fleetwood Town 7:45
Saturday 19th July Away v Skelmersdale United
Wednesday 23rd July Home v Kilmarnock
All of these games will provide stiff tests in the Warriors'
preparation for the coming season. Fleetwood Town won the
UniBond Premier League outright on the last day of the season, and Skelmersdale
United who finished third in their division were unlucky not to get a win in the
Unibond 1st Division North promotion play-off Final v FC United.
Kilmarnock of course are in the Scottish Premier League and
although they finished eleventh above only the unfortunate Gretna their
full-time status is bound to bring some high class football to Ochilview.
Note the games previously announced on the 4th and 5th of July
have been cancelled.

18th May Berwick
Midfielder Signs! |
The club are pleased to announce that Iain Thomson has signed
for the Warriors. He was their club captain last season and plays in
midfield.
Jim Lister who had agreed to join the Warriors from Camelon has
now decided to follow his old manager to Berwick and so will not be joining the
Warriors.

|
17th May Brand
New Signings! |
John
Coughlin has moved into the transfer market now that the window is open again.
The club have agreed a significant transfer fee for Andy Brand from the
Shire. As their club captain and goal scoring midfielder Andy was in demand and
we are delighted he has chosen is.
Brand signed for the Shire in 2005 making 74 appearances and scoring 14 goals 11
of which came in the 3rd Division last season including the Shire’s opener
against the Warriors in the amazing 4-3 game in March.
John also agreed a deal to sign goalkeeper Keiron Renton from Raith
Rovers, a player John has sought to sign a few times. He made 18 appearances in
his time with Rovers but Warriors fans will know him best from his time with
previous club Elgin City where he played 133 games between 2004 and 2007
including regular appearances against us.
Next, John signed John Ovenstone from Forfar - a commanding no nonsense
centre half. John was the Loons’ player of the year last season and made 39
appearances scoring 4 goals in a struggling side. John previously played for
Alloa and East Fife and boasts 163 career appearances scoring 15 goals in the
process.
John will be joined by Jordan Smith who has agreed to join permanently
after his loan period.
The manager also completed the signing of Chris McGroarty from Berwick
who played at left back in their championship season having previously played
for a variety of clubs including SPL experience at Dunfermline plus spells at
Clyde, St Mirren, Dumbarton, the Shire and Stranraer. In total Chris has played
230 games scoring 8 goals.
Craig McKeown and Graeme Gibson have also signed back on.
The team is starting to take shape with further signings to follow.

Accies under their belts recently, the Under 17's defeated Hibs 3-1 at Ochilview
last night. Goal scores were Keiran Connachan (2) and Steven McMillan (pictured
on home page). The game was played at a good tempo, with the Warriors outpassing
their opponents to merit a three goal lead. The victory was never in doubt as
Hibs scored their consolation goal in injury time. The boys finish the season
against Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday.

11th May Brave U19s
Lose In Final |
The Under 19's were beaten 3 1 in the final of the
youth league cup. A fine display by the boys came up short with Raith very much
the underdogs. Robert love equalised after we had gone down to 10 men, Rhys
Galloway having been harshly red carded. The Warriors team had other chances but
Raith took the lead again. In the last minute Gary Thom was red carded and Raith
scored from the free kick. A great effort from the boys and one we should be
very proud of.

10th May U19s Make It
To Sunday's Final |

Sean Cryan Settles The Stirling Albion Game
The Warriors Under 19s side have had two great
results in the past week or so and are now in the SFL U19 You Cup Final away at
Raith this Sunday 11th May. They beat Stirling Albion 3-1 to win through to the
semi-finals of the Under 19 Youth Cup. This was an excellent all round
performance in a very competitive match and goals came from Robert Love, Scott
McManus and Substitute Sean Cryans. The Stenny youths dominated the first half
but were held to a 2-1 interval lead. The second half was more even , but a Sean
Cryans thunderbolt late on in the game put the issue beyond doubt.
A tougher test at Hailton awaited in the Semi
Final but as a well contested game drew to a close McManus struck in the 86th
minute to put Stenny through 1-0!
Good luck lads!
