Backs to it again. . .

Following the success at Dumbarton, Stenny fans would have been hoping for an improvement in home form for the visit of Stranraer, but after taking the lead through a John Dempster penalty shortly after the break it all went wrong. They were 2-1 down within minutes and eventually lost 4-1.

Manager Campbell Money was bitterly disappointed, especially as he had picked a formation he hoped would keep it tight. He explained: “The plan was always at some point to change from a 4-5-1 to a 4-4-2, but because our previous home form had been so bad, I wanted to keep things tight, try to get a bit of confidence from that and then try to go on and win the game. But no sooner had we taken the lead, and then we were 2-1 down and with our backs to it again.

Very, very disappointing . . .

“It was a very, very disappointing, particularly the manner in which we lost the goals.”
It is not going to get easier, especially with a trip to league leaders East Fife on Saturday, but there was some good news for Money, he is able to welcome back two of his injured players, who both came through a bounce game against Cumnock midweek with no problems.

We've Missed Stevie Ferguson!

“I am hoping that Scott McCulloch and Stevie Ferguson will be fit, they will both train tonight [Thursday] so we will have a better idea tomorrow,” said Money.
“Fergie played a part [against Cumnock] and Scott played for 70 minutes and, to my knowledge, they are both fine.”

Still hurting . . .

Hopefully their return will herald a change in fortune for the Warriors, but Money knows it is not going to be easy at New Bayview, he said: “They are top of the league and have had a very good start to the season – it doesn’t get any easier, but we know that anyway so we have just got to get on with things.”

Certainly last week is still hurting for Money as he reiterated his dismay at the loss and promised action, saying: “The manner in which we lost the goals was very disappointing and I need to make changes this week.”
